I just wanted to take the time to thank you. As an instructor, you have shown immense patience for not only my daughter but also other students. What you have taught Annie is leaps and bounds beyond what her fellow school friends are learning in their music classes. Thank you and we look forward to many more years to come!
Andrea Marks

Tony is an inspiration, a motivator, a character-builder and an exceptional role model. He cares as much about how my son is progressing as an individual as he does in how well he is progressing on the instrument. He is a professional in the true sense of the word.

Tony began teaching my son, Zach, when he was in the 5th grade; Zach continues his lessons as a sophomore in high school. I appreciate how easily Tony relates to my son, knowing precisely when to challenge and encourage him. He has a very effective and positive method of teaching that has enabled my son to focus, set goals and ultimately place first in our “region” on snare drum two years in a row. I believe that my son’s achievements would not have been possible without the excellent instruction and motivation that he receives from Tony. Tony is not only a terrific teacher and mentor, but is also a wonderful person. He has a very kind and caring nature and is a great role model for our son and for all the students he teaches.

Tony, you have made a tremendous difference in my son’s life. You have helped Colin develop the competence and confidence necessary to play in our youth praise band as well as playing with his friends. Music is central to Colin’s life and I am sure we have you to thank. You inspire your students to believe in themselves. They practice because you have taught them to fall in love with playing and because they admire you so much that they don’t want to let you down. Your accountability is authentic, not contrived. Thank you for bringing such joy to Colin’s life. He respects you as a teacher and appreciates you as a very cool friend. You are the best!

Tony was highly recommended. He has been a source of constant support for my son, Christopher. He has spent time teaching him that perseverance and dedication are important as you learn to play the drums and in all other pursuits. Tony has taken the time to get to know who my son is and relates to him to help him achieve. He seems to have an unending amount of patience! In my opinion, Tony teaches the whole child. As a public school teacher, I see in Tony the qualities that I expect from a fellow teacher. I don not think of Tony as a drummer who happens to teach; I think that he is a teacher who specializes in percussion. Our family believes that we are very fortunate that we found Tony for our son.

Our daughter, Kate, has enjoyed drum instruction from Tony for over four years. He has a knack for developing knowledge and skill while making it fun. Just as importantly, he is an excellent role model for his students. His passion for music and teaching are readily apparent. His dedication to his students is why our daughter continues to be so enthusiastic about drumming.

Learning from Tony has been a rediscovery of sorts while humbling at the same time. I’ve rediscovered my passion for playing the drums and appreciation of music. At the same time, I am humbled by how little I really know about the intricacies of playing this instrument. I’ve been playing the drums for over a decade and have never learned to read music until now! Tony has shown me new perspectives about my playing and abilities, most importantly how to take what I already know and improve on it. His motto of “set yourself up to succeed” not only applies to playing the drums, but also to everyday life lessons.
